Stickies! is a Chrome extension that lets you leave sticky notes directly on webpages. This policy explains what data the extension handles and, just as importantly, what it doesn't.
The short version: Stickies! stores your notes on your own device, using Chrome's built-in local storage. Nothing you write, and no information about the pages you write it on, is ever sent to us or to anyone else. The only thing that ever leaves your device is a one-time payment reference if you purchase Stickies! Pro - used solely to confirm the purchase, never your notes or the pages you use them on.
When you create a note, Stickies! saves the following to
chrome.storage.local, a storage area built into your browser
and tied to your device:
If you use the "pin globally" feature, the note is additionally marked so it displays across every site you visit, not just the one it was created on. That note's content and the fact that it's pinned are stored the same way - locally, on your device.
Stickies! Pro is a one-time purchase handled by Dodo Payments. When you upgrade, you're taken to Dodo's own checkout page - Stickies! never sees or handles your card details, billing address, or any other payment information; that's between you and Dodo.
After checkout, Dodo gives you a payment reference (an opaque id, not personal information). The extension sends that reference to a small verification service we run, which asks Dodo whether it corresponds to a real, completed payment, and gets back a simple yes or no. That service doesn't store the reference, doesn't log your notes or browsing activity, and exists for the sole purpose of unlocking Pro features on your device once a payment is confirmed. Standard web server logs (e.g. IP address, at the hosting-infrastructure level) may exist transiently as a byproduct of that one request, the same as visiting any website, but nothing about your notes or your use of the extension passes through it.
Everything Stickies! stores stays inside Chrome's local storage for your browser profile, on your own device. It's included in Chrome sync only if you have Chrome's built-in extension-storage sync enabled at the browser level - that's a setting you control, not something Stickies! does on its own. Clearing the extension's data (or uninstalling it) removes everything it has stored.
If what the extension collects or how it's used ever changes, this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will reflect that.
